I've just read on Ringnokia that Nokia have now dropped the built in SIP stack from the N96, and other future models.
I found this invaluable
- at work, when there was no 3g/gsm coverage
- when abroad, to make calls home ie from free macdonalds wifi
This is an extremely disappointing development. The N96 was likely a small improvement to the N95 8Gb I already have (music, storage), but this is a key function that has been taken away.
I'm sure 3rd parties will fill the gap, but one of the benefits of nokia support was the tight integration in the UI.
And what does the iPhone have, yes VoIP
For me Nokia's blown it.
